Home Depot does give you the option of emailing a receipt. I don’t use it, so I’m not sure if it uses Square to handle that sending. However, if you have used another merchant that does use Square, you might have entered an email and not realized it. Square then will automatically associate that email with that card every time you use it. I’m unaware of any list of businesses that share info with Square.

Bought this strictly to print receipts with the Amazon Local Register iPad App and card reader, as it is the only receipt printer supported at this time by that platform. (Bought it used via an Amazon re-seller; works perfectly. It was easy to set up on the network using the downloadable Windows software. Once set up, my iPad and the Amazon Local Register app found the printer and linked to it easily. I haven’t tried using any of the other options (like printing our logo or printing coupons), but for what I bought it for it works perfectly. It prints extremely fast and clearly. The cutter works well, too. It is nice that it can be mounted to a vertical surface if desired.

I just purchased a Square Stand yesterday and am new to this, but am having a similar issue. My Stand (for ipad Air) will charge my ipad and the ipad recognizes the stand, but the Register app won’t recognize that the stand is connected and it won’t read cards. Trying to decide whether to return it immediately. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?

2) The major incomplete point is Square’s failure to include the last four digits of the card on the receipt it emails (and makes available via online link) – a standard practice on every other credit card receipt. This is Square’s to solve, not the merchant’s. Yes, I understand the other detail is the merchant’s deficiency. That’s a different issue and one that some travelers may also have to be aware of. But I know of few credit receipts that provide that kind of detail – if you need that for your accounting department you need to keep the original from the restaurant, for instance. So I’m not particularly arguing that the “item” entry on what Square sends you had to be detailed.

4) Go to Square’s website as a consumer and you will be left scratching your head as to how to get your questions asked. Everything on the site is merchant-facing. Sure, you and I are journalists and so tend to bull forward. That’s how I got my questions answered. But if I were to take the website on its face value, the impression is that I, as a consumer, don’t count there. All I’m suggesting is that Square have a link that makes clear it is aimed at consumers. Maybe something like: “Have a question about a receipt you’ve been emailed?”

Your questions are very normal. HP has always had a very big disconnect between their printer division (including the JetDirect products which include LAN cards and external boxes) and HP-UX. JetAdmin was the first product name but was obsoleted in 1999 due to Y2K issues, and was replaced by hppi (HP Printer Installer). The code is fairly similar but hppi is what you need. Unfortunately, HP stopped shipping hppi with the core HP-UX install disks years ago (for reasons unknown) and therefore makes installing HP printers quite problematic.

Square, that small white magnetic stripe card reader you see all over on iPads and smartphones, can make it easy to turn your smartphone or tablet into a portable point of sale station. Figuring out everything you need to set it up and use it, however, can be confusing. In this Square for Android Basics article, we talk about everything you need to know about using Square with an Android device. We’ll go over:
Near-dedicated photo printers don’t offer the same kinds of extras as dedicated models. By definition, however, they’re also capable of printing standard business documents, although it’s generally a waste of their talents—like using a brand-new Porsche as a town car. Some are harder to use for standard office printing than others, mainly because you have to swap out ink cartridges when you switch between glossy and plain paper. If you must use a near-dedicated photo printer for office printing as well as photos, even occasionally, be sure to pick one that lets you easily switch between photo paper and plain paper.

Inexpensive dedicated photo printers range in size from small enough to fit in a pocket to too large to carry very often. If you want to bring a printer with you to events like parties or Little League games, pick a size you won’t mind carrying. Also consider whether you’ll need to run it from batteries. If so, make sure there’s a battery available, if only as an option, and find out how many photos you can print on a full charge.

To create your own bar codes and labels, you’ll need to use a third-party application. At the moment, we don’t support bar code and label printers and can’t guarantee compatibility, but many customers have success using the DYMO Label Writer 450 and labels with Square.
To the people who posted how WONDERFUL Square up has been for them I say ‘You better hope you never have a problem for them to fix!!’ The customer is NEVER right. Then see how it feels to have them tie your money up for 180 days with a robot doing their so-called customer service. The frustration ALONE is enough for me to cringe at the mention of their name. Btw, Jack, you’re not all that! Put your ego away and focus on good business ethics.

Ethernet invoice printers can be utilized to print consumer bills, order tickets and order ticket stubs. Ethernet-interface printers are best for fixed usage and aren’t developed to be mobile. The Ethernet printers suitable with Square Register are thermal printers. They need heat-sensitive paper and will not deal with non-thermal invoice paper. These kinds of printers aren’t perfect for kitchen areas or high-temperature workspace.
I have two businesses and both of them use these T20s, they are super fast printers. No more dealing with off-brand junk. This printer is the real deal and the auto cut works every time. I would purchase again for sure.
Using it with a Square Stand and a portable tablet, set up was easy, works perfectly. We are using it with a TP-Link Powerline Adapter AV200 model so we can put it anywhere there is power in our facility. The Square software saw it immediately and printing works great. If both stations try to print at the same time, one is buffered in the printer until the first one has finished.
This unit worked very well out of the box. Yes, it would have been nice to find instructions, or even a url for where to find the manual, but some kind souls have posted about that in the q&a, so no biggie. But yesterday I plugged it in to charge, after. It using it for a couple of weeks, and no joy. The unit shows no sign of life at. I have removed the battery, checked and wiped the connections, etc etc. The return window closed 26 days ago so looks like I’m screwed 🙁 I’m dismayed to have spent $295 (including taxes) for a paperweight, and not sure what to do next. 😩
