This was the printer recommended to us by OCLC, WorldShare Management Systems in 2012. As a library, we need a printer that is compatible with Java. The Epson TM-T88V receipt printer functions great…as long as Java is not updated. Whenever Java is updated, we have to have our IT department spend hours getting it to work for us once again. However, I believe this is not just an issue with Epson printers. I would challenge Epson to be the first to resolve the issue…then they will still be the receipt printer recommended to libraries throughout the world. Otherwise another company will take the forefront. Here’s what our worldwide library system has told us:
We’ve been using this printer for over a year, and never had any issues. It’s such a great product, built to last! So easy to use with the Square app on the iPad! I have set other businesses up with this receipt printer!
Wireless Merchant App allows you to process Orders, Invoices, Quotes and even Credit Notes from your BlackBerry and wirelessly send to your back office accounting system, QuickBooks, Sage ACCPAC ERP, Sage BusinessVision or we can customize to your database.

I think that the UUID for BPP is correct, but I am not sure. The printer is a paired device, and it is switched on. I cannot find a USB driver for my phone (a badged Huawei 8110), so I have not been able to debug on the device, or look at a log. I am stuck at this point, and I would be grateful for any advice.

You don’t need to screw around with the extra settings, just turn on the cash drawer before/After print and be done. All of that coupon set up, barcode stuff on there is good but is best to use within your software development for better control but it too is useful. I use code 3-9 and scanner picks it right up for my transaction numbers. Now you do have programming options to setup the cutter and all of that but for those needing something fo there store on a quick, serve my customers base, this is by far the best and a heck of a lot cheaper that the t88 models by which I don’t see any difference by any means

To enable printing to your receipt printer from Square, you first need to connect your receipt printer to your iPad. In Square, go to Settings > Printers, tap “Create New Printer Station” and follow the instructions to connect your receipt printer. Once it’s connected, make sure “Receipts, Bills, and Reports” (under Print From This Device) is toggled on. This screen is also where you can enable printing kitchen tickets (if you have a kitchen printer).
The options for near-dedicated photo printers are pretty much the same as for standard office printers. Some models offer just a single USB connector. Others add a second USB connector for sharing between two computers, or an Ethernet connector for easy sharing on a network; some offer Wi-Fi connectivity as well, and a few offer USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. Few models offer PictBridge connectors or similar choices, because the assumption is that serious photographers will want to print from photo-editing programs on their computers.

With your choice of one or two under till media slots, the Series 4000 makes safely storing receipts, large bills, or other important media a snap. The spacious heavy duty till features coated bill stays and stronger than average dividers, so you can be sure your money stays put.
Loving it so far. I didn’t know I could even print text documents and images (in low-medium quality monochrome, mind you) right from my computer’s regular programs without special receipt software, after installing the driver of course. All you have to do is figure out the page size and margins and such, available in the manual and online. Some programs like Excel are a little tricky. This makes it easy to print bits of information clearly without wasting a lot of paper. It’s not fussy like a lot of regular printers. I just unplug it from one place and plug it into the other, wait a few seconds to hear the paper adjusting sound and the computer to recognize it, and print.
Nice dot matrix receipt printer for use in a commercial kitchen to print out orders. It’s a larger printer compared to the thermal printers and it’s quite loud. Not a bad thing in a kitchen as the chef will hear the printer when a new ticket is up. It does by the way have a buzzer jack so when a ticket is printed the buzzer goes off as well. Easy to set up even without instructions that were not included in the box, nor was the power cord. I think I received a used or returned unit so hopefully instructions and a power cord should be included. Star has a very good website with all documentation online. I believe this printer will work well in the kitchen environment. Be sure to stock up on ribbons & paper. Also, be careful who this or any other product for that matter is sold by. If it’s not sold by Amazon.com there most likely will be a different return policy than the easy & liberal Amazon.com return policy. This is why I did not return the item since the seller I purchased from (Antonline) had such a restrictive and arrogant return policy, I thought I’d be in for a fight. Since it worked & I had a power cord I just kept it, it wasn’t work the potential aggravation.
Epson’s TM-U220 impact portable receipt printers are compact reliable and optimized for high-speed throughput. Dubbed the Epson ‘kitchen printer’ for their ability to withstand high temperatures and hostile operating environments. These portable receipt printers offer all the easy-to-use features important to the retail, restaurant and hospitality industries and two-color printing to highlight special offers, kitchen orders and vivid logos.  More…
This printer is terrible. It always has connectivity issues and it is constantly jamming. Worst mistake i made for my business. We have to keep it off until we get a customer otherwise it keeps printing no host receipts and it jams. Called star micronics they said it was probably an issue on my end. WRONG! MY other register, which is hooked up by same switch board, has an Epson printer and it gives no issues. Do not buy this printer for your business. Go with an Epson. Same amount of $, no problems.
Excellent receipt printer! Easy setup, easy to use, and easy to replace receipt rolls. Great printer for any business. Used by one business for a few years, in excellent condition. Includes power cord…
