Square Print Receipt Regular Printer | Mini Bluetooth Photo Printer
Check the running cost and total cost of ownership if you can. Unfortunately, this may be impossible for near-dedicated photo printers, since there’s currently no widely accepted standard for calculating cost per photo. For dedicated photo printers, however, the cost per photo is typically easy to calculate, because most manufacturers sell print packs with enough ink and paper for a given number of photos.

This printer is terrible. It always has connectivity issues and it is constantly jamming. Worst mistake i made for my business. We have to keep it off until we get a customer otherwise it keeps printing no host receipts and it jams. Called star micronics they said it was probably an issue on my end. WRONG! MY other register, which is hooked up by same switch board, has an Epson printer and it gives no issues. Do not buy this printer for your business. Go with an Epson. Same amount of $, no problems.
Really solid receipt printer. Less expensive than 90% of the machines in its class, but it holds its own without an issue. Installation was slightly more involved than other reviewers had let on (it helps to know which port you’re connecting this through), but overall it was still pretty simple to get working. Just make sure that you don’t have an old version of the Epson receipt print driver on your computer, as this can cause the installation to fail.
I used this printer to print receipts for my Square and PayPal Here credit card transactions, in my taxi cab business. The printer is very compact and light weight. One thing I have noticed, is that sometimes the PayPal Here app will not recognize the printer for whatever reason. I’ve never experienced this issue with Square. Overall, I am fairly satisfied with the printer’s overall performance. Regarding the printer’s battery life: Since I used the printer exclusively in a mobile setting, I purchased the Star Micronics Car Charger (Model #SM-S/T) on another site. The Star Micronics web site indicates the supplied battery can be fully recharged up to 600 times before the battery should be replaced.
This thing works awesome, and there are tons of other reviews, so read those for more info. Only problem we have had is the stand has a hard time connecting to chip reader occasionally. When you open the program for the first time, there is like a 10% chance it won’t connect to chip reader. You have to quit app and restart. Gets old.

I don’t have drivers, etc for them but I can provide SDKs and I know that the POS-X Ion driver will work nicely in Windows 7. Other than that, you’re on your own, but I don’t think you’ll have that mu…

This device is EnergyStar compliant and even has a paper saving mode if those things concern you when in the market for a receipt printer. This printer is well made and offers you both serial and USB connections so you can use it with any Windows, Mac, or Ubuntu computer as well as Quickbooks – though regrettably it’s not compatible with mobile POS setups.
Star has also added a USB type A connector to the bottom of the printer. This is a bonus mPOS users who can use it to power or charge tablets and mobile devices. Like previous models, the TSP100III comes standard with a guillotine auto-cutter and “drop-in & print” paper loading to accommodate even the busiest restaurants and retail locations.

The STAR MICRONICS SM-T300I is also a light weight receipt printer. But it’s very durable and rugged. It’s also Apple MFi certified for iOS phone and iPads. It also works with Android and Windows. It’s been tested to take a little bit of beating and is used by people who are outside a lot. Having said that the price is higher than other printers. If you need something rugged, this device may be the one for you. But if you don’t. You will want to look at something else as this device can get expensive. The SM-T300i is easy to use. There is a well written and very detailed user manual. The user manual gives details on how to configure the receipt printer and how to load paper. I think these are THE STANDARD of Credit card/chit printers in the retail industry. I have some of the TM-88 IV (predecessors to this model) still in use after 10+ years. You can’t go wrong with an Epson TM printer. For a bit of background, I manage the IT for 60 hotels across the US and we use them at all of our front desk workstations and point of sale terminals.
