I have worked with Epson thermal and impact printers in bar and restaurant settings quite a bit over the last 7 years and they are generally pretty reliable so this early of a failure is rare. The TM-T20II is a relatively new model and certain things were done to make it more affordable but I believe they are using the same serial interface card (S01) that the TM-T88V models use.
All Epson system device products are covered by warranty, including power supplies and pole displays.Terms and length of warranty varies per product, please visit the product detail page for official terms.
Just click the Transaction and the Receipt will preview on the right-hand side. At the bottom, you’ll see the receipt number (ex: Receipt #H8R5). Click that and it will show you the digital version of the receipt. From there you’re good to print on the standard 8×11 printer paper.

i bought this printer to complement my diy pos system. the other items include a dell computer and monitor, and this cash drawer, all for under $700. the printer included the epson opos drivers, which allowed me to install the printer to the computer very easily. this printer also communicates with the cash drawer perfectly, and allowed me to add a custom image to the top of the receipt with very little effort.
It’s imperative to use only Epson-Specified Paper, in order to prolong the life of the print head in your Epson thermal printer. Other media has been known to damage the print head over time, and damage from use of unapproved media is not covered under warranty.
The TM-22 is a great all-around receipt printer, especially if you’re a low volume retail establishment. It’s quiet, its decently fast, about 30 percent faster than the older TM-T20 receipt printer. The warranty is 2 years, which isn’t quite as good as the 4 year warranty on the TM-T88 V, the speed also isn’t quite as good, but it’s still a good all-around receipt printer and something you should consider if you want a better printer than an impact printer but you don’t want to spend the full price of the TM-T88 V. Along with it’s 10+ ips print speed it is a great overall printer that will fit most point of sale printing needs.

You can add your logo and text to your receipt. This is done with software that is included with the receipt printer. By adding your logo to your receipts you have a place to advertise your business. You can also put your phone number on your receipt or your website URL. This is a good thing to do if you’re selling at a craft show, fair, farmers market and etc. The customer may not remember your name and may not go online to search for your website. But if you put your website on the receipt you have a better chance of the customers visiting your website to make a purchase.

Really solid receipt printer. Less expensive than 90% of the machines in its class, but it holds its own without an issue. Installation was slightly more involved than other reviewers had let on (it helps to know which port you’re connecting this through), but overall it was still pretty simple to get working. Just make sure that you don’t have an old version of the Epson receipt print driver on your computer, as this can cause the installation to fail.

I think these are THE STANDARD of Credit card/chit printers in the retail industry. I have some of the TM-88 IV (predecessors to this model) still in use after 10+ years. You can’t go wrong with an Epson TM printer. For a bit of background, I manage the IT for 60 hotels across the US and we use them at all of our front desk workstations and point of sale terminals.

Ethernet port: an Ethernet port a little more common these days, and is used for connecting to networks. If your EPSON printer is using an Ethernet port, it won’t be plugged directly into your computer, but rather to a network router or switch. You’d select the “Create an Ethernet port” option if the port you’re plugging into looks like this:
If your EPSON printer isn’t connected directly to the computer but is instead connected somewhere to the store’s network (and the computer you’re installing to has access to it), select this option and click Next.
Thermal Receipt Printer, PoweredUSB and USB Interfaces, Auto-cutter. No power supply. Order cables separately. Color: Dark gray. Be sure the printer and the iPad are connected to the same network. To confirm this or change your Wi-Fi network, go to the iPad’s Settings and tap “Wi-Fi” located in the left sidebar. Then select the network that the router is broadcasting and click “Connect”.
