[James] had been aware of the Adafruit Thermal Printer Library, but this library is a little kludgy. Text is the Adafruit Library’s forte, and while graphics and non-ASCII characters are possible they’re certainly not easy to print with the existing libraries. With his current system based on HTML, CSS, and Javascript, [James] has a really easy way to print anything he can put on a webpage on receipt paper.

POS printers can connect to your computer using different interfaces. These include USB, Parallel Port or Serial Port. Always choose a USB connection unless you are using an older computer that only has either a parallel or serial port.
If you are an experienced user or a programmer, you can print a hexadecimal dump to isolate communication problems between the printer and your software program. In hex dump mode, the printer prints all data it receives from the computer as hexadecimal values.
If the self test results are satisfactory, the printer is working properly and the problem probably results from your printer driver settings, application settings, computer, or interface cable. (Be sure to use a shielded interface cable.)

In the next great feature, all users will find in this Epson printer is LED message lights. The feature here can help you to know the message. Getting his receipt printer onto the Internet had its own challenges. After wrangling with the Arduino Ethernet library through the month of February, [James] realized larger prints (about 15cm of paper) would fail inexplicably. To get around this, [James] wrote an HTTP client for the Arduino that would fetch data, put it on the SD card, and then start printing.
The Epson TM-U220 impact printer has been a mainstay in kitchen printing and dry cleaners for many years. The printer uses a ribbon to transfer ink to paper, making it more resistant to smears and discoloration from heat and humidity. Available with a variety of interfaces and cutting methods, the TM-U220 is a solid investment.

You can’t beat the TM-T88 series of printers. The serial version work great to swap out older nonfunctional models on our Aloha POS that need to be sent off for re-manufacturing (never throw one of these away, they can be rebuilt for $80-$100). Love the modular connection cards, if you need eithernet connection down the road just replace the card in the bottom. Make sure you set the dipswitches correctly to work with whatever POS system you are using. They are located in the bottom of the unit under the small silver panel secured with a phillips head screw.

this works with apple perfect I use it for a pos system I have. A big drawback is the Bluetooth setting, They are not recognized by my apple tablet. Works fine with android and windows via bluetooth. The instructions could use a lot of work in explaining or lask or explains bluetooth set up. Bottom line is if you a little computer savvy you should have no problems
A simple print button on the tablet application would allow us to connect to a local or network printer and print the same form data. Why is this still impossible? Why can we still not utilize our desktop or local printers to print receipt data from the app?
“The update to Java scheduled for September 2017, Java 9, is currently incompatible with POS printers in use at WorldShare Management Services (WMS) libraries. WorldShare Circulation depends on the workstation’s Java implementation to communicate with POS printers for printing receipts, which means that any WorldShare Circulation workstation that is updated to Java 9 will lose the ability to communicate with POS printers.

Features on the ready print: you have your LED lights to tell you if there’s error or when you’re out of paper when the cover is open, etc. Drop in loading- just take your thermal receipt paper, drop it in, close it, and good to go. On/off switch is on the front and as we come around to the back, you can see the ports. On all versions of the ready print, there’s going to be a USB connection. This is the power plug adapter to the PS-180 Power supply, that’s a change from the previous model which had the power supply built in. Now it’s a separate power brick, it makes the unit a little smaller, it also allows you to replace one unit. Should the power supply fail, you can buy a new power supply where before if the power supply failed, then you’d have to replace the unit. Here’s your serial connection, they went back to using a 25 pin serial connection where it was a 9 pin serial connection on the previous model. Most setups are not going to use the serial printer, you’re only going to need the USB so buy the serial version but it doesn’t matter, you’re just not going to use the serial port. Your cash drawer port is located on the top and that’s how you’re going to connect your cash drawer. On other models it was down below and now, it’s up top here. Additionally there is a wall mount bracket for the printer, it screws on and you can mount on the back and that’s how you would attach it on the wall. You can also see those little cut outs here where you can put the additional set of rubber feet then if you wanted to mount it vertically, you’d have the paper feed out of it like so. You can do that as well, just two different mounting options for this printer.

With included internal power supply, power cables, complete mounting kits, and paper roll, the TSP100III is the perfect printer for any mPOS bundle. Star has also added an additional USB type A connector for one convenient power source for your tablet or mobile device.
