Purchased this item OCT 2014. Fast printing and compatible with Microsoft POS 2.0. It’s a reliable receipt printer that power on 16 hrs / day and 7 days / a week at my liquor store. I would buy it again if needed for my other business.

The TM-T20II offers the same affordability as the ReadyPrint T20, but with faster printing. If you have a clothing boutique, small to medium-sized retail establishment, or sit down restaurant, this is a great option. Featuring Epson’s award winning build quality, the TM-T20II will provide many years of reliable service.
Features on the ready print: you have your LED lights to tell you if there’s error or when you’re out of paper when the cover is open, etc. Drop in loading- just take your thermal receipt paper, drop it in, close it, and good to go. On/off switch is on the front and as we come around to the back, you can see the ports. On all versions of the ready print, there’s going to be a USB connection. This is the power plug adapter to the PS-180 Power supply, that’s a change from the previous model which had the power supply built in. Now it’s a separate power brick, it makes the unit a little smaller, it also allows you to replace one unit. Should the power supply fail, you can buy a new power supply where before if the power supply failed, then you’d have to replace the unit. Here’s your serial connection, they went back to using a 25 pin serial connection where it was a 9 pin serial connection on the previous model. Most setups are not going to use the serial printer, you’re only going to need the USB so buy the serial version but it doesn’t matter, you’re just not going to use the serial port. Your cash drawer port is located on the top and that’s how you’re going to connect your cash drawer. On other models it was down below and now, it’s up top here. Additionally there is a wall mount bracket for the printer, it screws on and you can mount on the back and that’s how you would attach it on the wall. You can also see those little cut outs here where you can put the additional set of rubber feet then if you wanted to mount it vertically, you’d have the paper feed out of it like so. You can do that as well, just two different mounting options for this printer.

POS printers often include display screens that allow customers to view items as employees scan or manually enter them for the transaction. This simple display helps purchasers verify pricing and review tax information at a glance, ensuring they receive the advertised prices.
Don’t let the number of fields in this window intimidate you. Like parallel port configuration, serial port configuration is actually not typically a big deal. The APD app usually automatically detects the first available COM port for your printer installation, and if that one doesn’t seem to work when you test it, you’ll just need to select the next one in the list and save the configuration change (and run a test print job for each) until you find the one that successfully prints out a test page (just like with parallel port configuration). The remaining fields in the window almost never need to be altered.
We expanded and I just reordered the last one through Amazon. What came in was the TM-20II. Different power cord than the last one which lead to some wiring problems but overall a much faster printer!!!
Just click the Transaction and the Receipt will preview on the right-hand side. At the bottom, you’ll see the receipt number (ex: Receipt #H8R5). Click that and it will show you the digital version of the receipt. From there you’re good to print on the standard 8×11 printer paper.
I think these are THE STANDARD of Credit card/chit printers in the retail industry. I have some of the TM-88 IV (predecessors to this model) still in use after 10+ years. You can’t go wrong with an Epson TM printer. For a bit of background, I manage the IT for 60 hotels across the US and we use them at all of our front desk workstations and point of sale terminals.
The TM-T20II comes with multiple ease-of- use features from drop-in paper loading and autocutter to status LEDs and more. And it also offers optional printer placements including horizontal or upright for front receipt dispensing or vertical wall placement using a special hanging bracket.

Once you’ve bought your receipt printer, you need to set it up. Fortunately, this is pretty easy to do. You will need to follow some steps. Here are the steps that we’ve researched below. You’ll also want to look at your instruction manual that comes with your receipt printer.

Other Thoughts: I bought one in February 2017 and put it into full time use in a restaurant in the middle of March. Serial interface card/communication failed around the middle of June. Was able to switch and print using USB interface to confirm serial issue but site’s Point of Sale software doesn’t work with USB so am having to send it in for warranty repair.
This was the printer recommended to us by OCLC, WorldShare Management Systems in 2012. As a library, we need a printer that is compatible with Java. The Epson TM-T88V receipt printer functions great…as long as Java is not updated. Whenever Java is updated, we have to have our IT department spend hours getting it to work for us once again. However, I believe this is not just an issue with Epson printers. I would challenge Epson to be the first to resolve the issue…then they will still be the receipt printer recommended to libraries throughout the world. Otherwise another company will take the forefront. Here’s what our worldwide library system has told us:
Impact receipt printers use a dot-matrix print head and ink ribbon to print text onto plain paper. This print style allows for easy print duplicates like you would see with credit slips. Printouts are more resistant to the elements, making these printers a great choice for kitchens, dry cleaners, or any business where temperature and humidity could make thermal receipts difficult to read. Impact printers also can be used for slip printing and check validation.
You don’t need to screw around with the extra settings, just turn on the cash drawer before/After print and be done. All of that coupon set up, barcode stuff on there is good but is best to use within your software development for better control but it too is useful. I use code 3-9 and scanner picks it right up for my transaction numbers. Now you do have programming options to setup the cutter and all of that but for those needing something fo there store on a quick, serve my customers base, this is by far the best and a heck of a lot cheaper that the t88 models by which I don’t see any difference by any means

Acts as a regular printer, you install it, and print whatever you want to it and it automatically scales it down to the margin on the printer paper and done deal(No need to go around playing with settings) NOTE: CHROME STILL LIKES TO USE 2 MILES OF THE PAPER SO I DONT KNOW ABOUT CHROME AS MY POS FRONT END. I USE FIREFOX OR OPERA)
