By comparing the characters printed in the right column with the printout of the hexadecimal codes, you can check the codes the printer is receiving. If characters are printable, they appear in the right column as ASCII characters. Nonprintable codes, such as control codes, are represented by dots.

Using only Epson-tested media is critical to prolonging the life of the printhead in your Epson thermal printer. Other media has been known to damage the printhead over time and damage from use of untested media is not covered under warranty.
The price is right but the result is even better! they are reliable and they get the job done. I was going to buy some other ones in the $400 price tag, I think these work just as well, if not better. I love them!

The Epson TM-T20II builds on the ReadyPrint line, giving you a great combination of performance and affordability. This Epson thermal printer is an ideal fit for low to medium volume retail, restaurants, and food service providers.

The TM-22 is a great all-around receipt printer, especially if you’re a low volume retail establishment. It’s quiet, its decently fast, about 30 percent faster than the older TM-T20 receipt printer. The warranty is 2 years, which isn’t quite as good as the 4 year warranty on the TM-T88 V, the speed also isn’t quite as good, but it’s still a good all-around receipt printer and something you should consider if you want a better printer than an impact printer but you don’t want to spend the full price of the TM-T88 V. For more information or to purchase the receipt printer, please visit us at www.posguys.com.
If you need a remote Kitchen Impact Order Printer, the Star SP742ML or SP742ME will work for all applications. It is a Dot Matrix Receipt Printer and uses a ribbon, so you can print on carbon copy paper rolls, or standard single ply :

Right now, [James]’ project is a polished as anyone could hope. We’re a bit concerned – although we completely understand –  that he could get sucked into the black hole of pointless development of receipt printer software so easily. All was not for naught, though; now anyone can make very professional-looking prints on receipt paper very easily.

But my point is that an adding machine paper-receipt looks unprofessional in some businesses.  An inexpensive ink jet or better, a multitasking network office printer that is already in use would make a LOT more sense for me.  I’m sure they are robust and work fine, they just don’t suit my business and I don’t like being so limited in the TYPE of printer I can use.

This was the printer recommended to us by OCLC, WorldShare Management Systems in 2012. As a library, we need a printer that is compatible with Java. The Epson TM-T88V receipt printer functions great…as long as Java is not updated. Whenever Java is updated, we have to have our IT department spend hours getting it to work for us once again. However, I believe this is not just an issue with Epson printers. I would challenge Epson to be the first to resolve the issue…then they will still be the receipt printer recommended to libraries throughout the world. Otherwise another company will take the forefront. Here’s what our worldwide library system has told us:
Strategic Developer Partners have the option to become ECCCs. The ECCC program offers two advantages: maximizing the profit potential of your service department and building long-term relationships with your customers. If you’re interested in becoming authorized as a service provider, you must meet certain Epson requirements.
