Wi-Fi printers are accessible over a Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi normally uses a similar radio band to Bluetooth, but with more power. Devices that connect over a Wi-Fi network must be within about 100 meters of a central wireless access point, though with repeaters the range can be greatly extended. Using Wi-Fi to connect to your printer is more appropriate if you have a larger office space with more employees. However, a Wi-Fi network is a bit more complex; a central wireless router must be set up and secured and the wireless printer must be added to the network.

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that is primarily designed for use in mobile devices, such as mobile phones. Unlike Wi-Fi, Bluetooth is designed to be used over short distances — typically just a few metres. The benefit of Bluetooth is that it draws very little power, so it’s kind to your phone’s battery. It does, however, have some drawbacks, not least that Bluetooth connections are typically much slower than Wi-Fi connections.

How to Print from Any Printer in Android Phone (No Wi-fi Printer)

There are three main ways to connect your printer into your Wi-Fi network: using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), using the printer’s onboard Wireless Setup Wizard, or by connecting your printer to your computer via USB and using the supplied software to configure the wireless connection.
1. Wireless printing and scanning requires a working network with wireless 802.11b/g /n/ac or ad capability. Wireless performance may vary based on terrain and distance between the printer and wireless network clients.
For printing images on photo paper, I found the top feed to be easier for setting up and centring the paper. This feeder this doesn’t work to feed several sheets at one time for scanning, sheets to be scanned need to be placed on the top glass the same as anything to be copied.
Wi-Fi enabled printers have a number of advantages, as once you connect your printer into your home network you can share it with the various devices in your home. Another way to connect wirelessly to your printer is to connect it over the Internet. Web-based printers are accessible from nearly any device that has access to the Internet, provided that they are shared with those devices. A Web-based printer is accessible even when you are out of the office and your devices generally don’t need a special printer driver installed to access them. Web-based printers are a bit more expensive than other types and must, of course, have some access to the Internet, either over a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network.

I was able to fit 75 sheets of standard print/copy paper into the bottom tray or about a dozen in the back mounted pop up feeder that can be used. Before you actually connect your printer to your computer’s USB port, make sure you’ve loaded the printer’s installation software from the CD-ROM that it came with. It will guide you through the setup process and ask you whether you want to use a USB or Wi-Fi connection. Simply choose the Wi-Fi option, select your network name and enter its password. The software will send this data to the printer’s memory and then install the drivers on your PC. Don’t forget that you’ll also have to install the printer drivers on all the PCs in your network that you want to be able to use for printing.
If your printer doesn’t have any wireless capabilities, you can still convert it by connecting it to a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth print server. Both types cost around $50-$60. As with the printers, a Bluetooth server is easier to set up but has limited range.
