The easiest option is to use WPS if your router and printer both support it. With WPS you don’t have to know your network’s name (or SSID as it’s officially known) or password. Instead you simply select the WPS option on your printer via its control panel and then press the WPS button on your wireless router. The two devices will then automatically communicate with each other to establish the connection. Once the connection is set up, you just install the driver software from your printer’s installation CD-ROM on all the PCs in the network that will be used for printing.

Pairing your Android device using the printer’s Bluetooth Smart signal does not enable Bluetooth printing. Although Bluetooth pairing is possible between your Android device and the printer, Bluetooth Smart and traditional Bluetooth pairing are two different features. Bluetooth Smart helps the HP ePrint app locate and connect your printer, and then print jobs are completed over your Wi-Fi network or the Wi-Fi Direct connection.
Simply connect your iOS or Android smartphones, tablets and other devices over Bluetooth or NFC, and print wirelessly from anywhere within range. Add emojis, voice recordings, general text, links and a lot more.
As Wi-Fi is finding its way into more and more phones, Bluetooth printing has become less popular. Nevertheless, Bluetooth support is still a useful feature if you’ve got one of the many phones that don’t have Wi-Fi.
Connecting your printer with a USB cable limits mobility and access to your printer, not to mention the ugly cable running through your office. You can solve these problems by buying a wireless printer. Wireless printers come in two basic types: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is simple to set up and use but is more appropriate for small office spaces and a limited number of users while Wi-Fi takes a bit more to set up but can serve more users over a greater range.
Add printer automatically. This is less secure, but easier. From the options tab, make sure the options “Turn discover on” and “Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer” are checked. Your printer and computer should then find each other automatically and begin working. If you’d rather not let other devices discover your computer, follow steps 6 and 7 instead.
18. CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM is a premium content service available exclusively to users only when all of the colors of genuine Canon inks and all of the software that came with the printer are properly installed.
Google, however, has now launched its own Cloud Printing service that allows you to send jobs to your printer across the Web from its Cloud Print-enabled apps. These include its Gmail and Google Docs services as well as its Chrome Web browser. Kodak and HP are currently the only two companies that offer Google Cloud-ready printers. These printers can be connected directly to the Google Cloud service via Wi-Fi, so they don’t need your PC to be turned on for cloud printing to work.
10. To install using Windows(R) OS, .NET Framework 4 is required. Compatible still image formats are PDF (created using Canon PDF Creator only), JPEG (Exif), TIFF, and PNG. Compatible video formats are MOV (from select Canon digital cameras only) and MP4 (from select Canon digital camcorders only).
When you’re viewing a webpage, document or picture on your iOS device’s screen, using just a few taps of the screen you can send what you’re viewing wirelessly to your printer and be holding a hard copy in your hands within a matter of seconds.
The final option is to configure your printer by first connecting it to your computer via USB. Some people may find this option easier than the second method, as it can often be a bit fiddly to enter long Wi-Fi passwords using your printer’s basic controls.

♦ ♦ ♦: I do have one problem that I am unable to get around, the printer will not see any images on an SD card inserted into the reader slot. I’ve tried formatting three different cards each as exFAT, FAT, FAT32, and even NTFS. I’ve put jpeg and tiff (formats shown as supported by the documentation) images on the various cards. then navigate through the screens to where it simply states that “Data of supported types are not saved”. I’ve had it check to see if there’s a firmware update but nothing at this time. This is mystifying as all other printers I use including the other current Canon have no issues with the three cards or images that are loaded on them. I don’t use this onboard feature very often as I prefer to use image manipulation software like Photoshop rather than try to use the limited features that are typically found on printers but there are times when I just need to print a snap shot and be done with it. This is a real let down on an otherwise great home printer.
But the biggest noticeable difference between the two printers is with people portraits. The older model TS9020 has beautiful, true, warm skin tones. This new TS9120 gives the skin tones a slightly bluish tint, for example blue veins in the forehead are more noticeable. I much prefer the older TS9020 with the gray ink tank for pictures of people.
You could be sitting in an Internet café in Sydney, for example, and send some photos to your printer at home, so your family can see what you’ve been up to on your travels. Or you could be at your office a few miles from your house and print out your boarding pass for a flight you have to catch later, so it’s ready for you to pick up when you get home.
Another way to connect wirelessly to your printer is to connect it over the Internet. Web-based printers are accessible from nearly any device that has access to the Internet, provided that they are shared with those devices. A Web-based printer is accessible even when you are out of the office and your devices generally don’t need a special printer driver installed to access them. Web-based printers are a bit more expensive than other types and must, of course, have some access to the Internet, either over a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network.
17. Based on accelerated testing by Canon in dark storage under controlled temperature, humidity and gas conditions, simulating storage in an album with plastic sleeves. Bluetooth uses a low power wireless networking protocol to connect devices within close range, generally no further than ten meters. While most contemporary laptops come equipped with Wi-Fi adapters, Bluetooth is a little less common. If your computer doesn’t come equipped with Bluetooth, for $20 you can add a small adapter to a USB port. Bluetooth networks have the advantage of being easy to maintain — you don’t need anything other than a Bluetooth-equipped printer and Bluetooth-equipped computers. No routers or other networking equipment is necessary.
The growing popularity of smart phones and tablets has meant that more and more of us want to be able to print directly from our mobile devices, rather than having to sync photos and files with a PC when we want to produce hard copies. Thankfully, printer manufacturers have cottoned on to this and now all the major brands have produced their own free smart phone and tablet printing apps.
